Moviegoers miss out on something epic.

Speed Racer is a live action anime masterpiece. Amazing and thrilling in every sense of the word, it's like Final Fantasy the movie all over again, however, in how hard it fell to earth this past weekend in the box office numbers.

Number one for a second week in a row is Iron Man. Some are calling it the greatest comic book movie of all time. I'm not so sure I believe that, but I do know it's making a great deal of money. 51.9 million this weekend to bring its two week total to 177.8 million dollars. It won't be number 1 next weekend however as Prince Caspian will rise up to take his rightful place on the throne.

The new coming films battled it out all weekend and Warner Brothers did some really sketchy things with their numbers to try and make it so that Speed Racer would come out on top. But alas, number 2 belongs to What Happens In Vegas. Ashton and Cameron's flick made 20.1 when the actual numbers were released today.

That forced Speed Racer into the bronze position. Despite being an extremely promoted flick, moviegoers just weren't looking for something mind-bending from the Wachoskis this time around. 18.5 million is a bomb no matter how you slice it. Such a tragic disappointment since the movie is actually really really good.

Made of Honor with McDreamy was in fourth place this weekend. It made 8.1 million bringing its total after two weeks to 26.7 million dollars.

Baby Mama found 6.2 million in its third week bringing that chick-flick's total to 40.8 million. It's interesting to note that all the girl friendly films in the wake of the Iron Man aren't cannibalizing each other.

Son of Rambow made 154 thousand dollars. It's now in 36 screens and will get even more this upcoming week. If one of them is near you... GO! GO SEE THE MOVIE! The current total for the indie kid-flick is 227 thousand dollars so it really could use your help.
