"A lot of fire in this one."

Shinji is a proclaimed seme. And with his buzz hair cut, frayed ball caps, and cologne I could have predicted such. The topic came up when Kaze, Tatsuo, Shinji and myself were all at WETbar on Saturday night. Enjoying the open bar up in the SKYbar lounge part of the sprawling nightclub, Shinji said he was seme. When I tried to capture more kisses, he tried but ultimately failed to slip away. "A lot of fire in this one," I exclaimed happily.

"There's going to be a lot of butting heads." Kaze explained.

But I can take it. I was turned uke before when I dated Ashley for over three years. And quite honestly, I actually don't mind the role at all. Kind of crave the feelings of comfort and security. That is after being held down and buttraped. I'll certainly need to regain my abilities in taking such though since it's been over two years since I've been on the receiving end of a hot beef injection.

But back to Shinji and the night at WETbar. Yes, the same WETbar I was so angry at for kicking me off the shuttle at 3am because they decided to stop running it for the night. Well, it was better this time, thankfully, and Shinji really did like the space. It's beautiful with many levels, the upstairs patio, and outside gardens.

We danced a bit, though never on the actual dance floor (packed due to DJ Tracy Young.) We kissed a bit, though it wasn't nearly enough for me (probably due to his bashfulness being around my friends.) And we made it pretty well stated that something is starting to go on between us.

I know we need to do something outside of the nightlife soon. Going to Speed Racer was mentioned but that's not until May, so something before then. Something that hopefully grants me more time with Shinji who may have only been joking when he said he was dumping me as his boyfriend. It was exclaimed to Kaze when he was telling us that my directions were bad since exit 250 was closed. Oops! But hey, did he say boyfriend?

I'm pretty sure I would label it as "dating" at this point if I was told I had to give it some sort of classification. After all, we only somewhat know each other and are only at first base. Hehehe. Still, I'll take it. Because like I said to Kaze while the two semes (Tatsuo and Shinji) were wandering around while we were outside chatting, "Not to put too much emphasis on everything, but if this IS something, it is what I've been kind of training the last several years for: A Japanese boyfriend."

Get Busy Child

The Crystal Method roared into WETbar's DJ booth and took the mostly rolling and mixed-sexual orientation crowd by storm. With a hard trance ferocity, they rocked their set without giving the people gathered much time to collect their breath. While they only played 3 of their own songs (that I could recognize through the heavy layering and improved remixing), I don't think anyone went home disappointed.

Well, except one guy that I was with.

He is older, has shoulder length long hair, and is best described as looking like a rock musician -- except he actually installs audio/visual equipment for business and residence.

I'd seen him a long time ago at Heretic, but he'd been going mostly to Blake's and WETbar lately and they had been treating him quite well after he installed some new equipment for them.

So this got us into VIP which as I think I've stated before really isn't all that amazing. But I guess it's just the allure of something the great unwashed can't get into that makes it all so much better, right?

So anyway, this guy, he's hot, handsome, really into me. Too much into me, actually and that becomes off putting. I let him know rather quickly that his aggressiveness is too much for me. I try to go more on the attack with little success. And though I had a moderately good time making out with him and bumping uglies on the dance floor to what should be Barack Obama's theme song for the younger set (Keep Hope Alive), I just couldn't go home with him.

I turned him down.

Maybe in the end that my way of finally overpowering an extremely dominate seme. But I started to think about how it wasn't going to work out anyway. While I can please some as uke, I'm not especially good at the role in the bed. While it's always great to do things out your ordinary comfort zone, I didn't think it would lead to anything really all that pleasant. At least not for me.

And you know NOT going home with him STILL was quite unpleasant as WETbar and Blake's shuttle stopped running after I was to be the only one needing to ride it back to my car. They actually told me to get back off the bus, they were shutting it down. I complained. I knocked on the closed WETbar door and complained some more to the bartender who opened it. And after walking the 8 blocks back to my car at 3:30 in the morning, after driving back home, I pulled up their website to complain to them some more. They're the assholes that should have been fucked last night.

It seriously makes me reconsider going to see Hybrid in 2 weeks and Deep Dish in 4.
VIP... ha! The Heretic wouldn't have treated me that way.

Amateur party people.

New Years Eve is one of the only nights of the year where the non-professional party people try to have a good time. I'm all for sharing the love (and the dance floor) with them, but some of you bitches need to know when to say when about three cocktails before you fall into me. And I'm talking about actual girls. Seriously! You're coming into our gay nightclubs, all fine and well, but don't make complete asses of yourself. You're pissing me off!

On a more positive note: Kaze and Tatsuo's hospitality was so wonderful. I felt very loved while spending our third New Years Eve together as friends. I ventured to their home, which is very lovely. We watched part of the Japan 4 hour annual New Years Eve concert. Tat gave me more Japanese candy! Yum yum yum.

WETbar is where pretty much all of the girls taking spills with their drinks in hand took place. But it was also where we rung in the actual New Year. Who would have thought this time last year Britney Spears would have had made such a disgraceful fall only to be reclaimed as a diva the pretty boys all love singing and dancing to?

I didn't win any of the cash money drop, but then again, I wasn't really trying. And I wasn't dancing so much either. This was because there really wasn't much space to do anything other than perhaps survey the carnage.

A jaunt over to The Body Shop afterwards was filled with ALOT more fun than usual. While I've discussed at length how the after-hours club has simply not lived up to any expectations, last night they really put on a barn burner. Sure, it was mostly filled with the sketchiest of the bunch (partly because another after-hours party at Center Stage was shut down by the po-po), but it was the most fun I'd had there in a while. And perhaps for the first time, The Body Shop felt like a real club.

Today I've spent mostly resting. It was a really long final day of 2007, but I'm glad to say that I survived a particularly troublesome year.

I've also been slowly chipping away at editing down my winning entry for NaNoWriMo written back in November. It's a novel called "Later, Skater" and I'm really fond of it. Editing isn't a easy chore to say the least, but I really feel good about this project and hope it will be successful.

Glad to have each and every one of you to start off this new year. 2008 could end up being one of the most dramatic in the world we live in, but one thing will remain constant: Pixiesticks.org will still stand tall as one of the best places for yaoi and shota.

So stick around and Happy New Year.

WETbar deserted the weekend before XMAS

DJ Gomi was spinning to a mostly empty WETbar last night. There were light crowd all over due to the traveling before the holiday. But even the rain couldn't dampen the fun I had hanging out with an overly chatty DJ Kaze and Tatsuo. They truly are some of the best friends I only get to see in the nightlife.

Except on New Years Eve this may change.

For the first time, I believe I'm going to be going to their house earlier in the evening in preperation for a club going oddessy that I have never attempted before in my life. 12 straight, or rather, not so straight, hours of party! WETbar 10pm-3am, Bodyshop 3am-7am, Heretic 7am-noon. Can we do it? Is it insane? The likely answers are yes and yes.

But back to Gomi. The extremely attractive DJ who got his roots basically from Junior Vasquez wasn't the powerhouse that I thought he was going to be. Of course, a DJ typically needs to feed off what the crowd gives them and well all I could manage was to melt into a pile of transfixed goo looking up at the cutie in the booth.

Quick hits.

* I saw Fred Claus and Lust, Caution yesterday and really liked both. That's kind of funny since Fred Claus is a slap-dash holiday comedy and Lust, Caution is a very serious buisness stoy from Ang Lee about infiltrating the bed of the enemy.

* Tonight is WETbar's 2nd Year Anniversary. I'll be going with Tatsuo. Tony Moran is the DJ so it should be hueg like X-BOX. I may go to Body Shop afterwards and enjoy hearing DJ Yoshi Bear since maybe that'll bring more gaysians out. Yeah. I just wrote that.

* Wrote two times the NaNo today since I skipped yesterday. It's going very very well.

* Yaoi post either tomorrow or Monday. Probably Monday.

Another Weekend

It was another weekend this weekend.

Not to belittle my friends Kevin and Tatsuo who are really really awesome, especially such that they gave me a lift from Heretic to WETbar last night, but, well, it was merely another regular ol' weekend this weekend.

The only differences were that I did write up a first draft of a short film that Colin wants to film. I'll will keep you all updated on that, of course.

Oh and it seems that Elf has pretty much abandoned me.

Eurolame

Armin Van Buuren was lame!

It was 30 frickin' dollars. I wished I could have heard him outside the club before deciding to plunk down so much money to hear how boring his set was going to be. I'm a fan of no-vocal trance, but to not have any vocals almost all night when your top rated song is "Shivers" which is very vocal? Oh, and he didn't play that song either.

And worse, the music he did play was so so boring. It lacked any umph, did very little building to climaxes... (That's what SHE said!) and was just so dry and dull.

The only good parts about the night was Joel the SKYbar bartender who makes a mean anything. I'm still feeling drunk.

And some boys dressed as girls (It's a TRAP!) selling girl scout cookies. Which, Joel used a few to make shots. In-fucking-sane!

From the Corrections Department

Tonight at WETbar liquified presents Armin Van Buuren not Armand as often misspelled. While I'm sure he's likely a fan of the young hot vampire as much as the next guy, I wanted to make sure to get the name right.

I'm looking forward to the show. Hoping it'll be just a smidge less crowded than Oakenfold from last week though. I need space to daaaance.
